... from the Railway Station Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (Potsdam main station)

Take either the Regionalbahn (regional train) in the direction of  Berlin-Schonefeld and ride to the station
Potsdam-Pirschheide (travel time 6 min; train runs roughly once an hour) or Bus  #695 to
Potsdam-Pirschheide (travel time 25 min; bus runs every 20 minutes). To reach  the bus stop, go up
the stairs, and then exit the station following the signs for the Friedrich-Engels-Str. You will see several
bus lanes upon exiting the station.  When you reach Potsdam-Pirschheide, walk toward the tram stop in
front of the station. Cross the tracks and enter the grounds of the  Sparkassenakademie; the main entrance

    ... from Berlin

Take the suburban train (S-Bahn) S7 in the direction Potsdam  (35 minutes) or the Regional Express
train (RE1) in the direction Brandenburg or Magdeburg (20 minutes). Then proceed as described above.
Guests arriving by air in Tegel should take Bus #X9 (express) or #109 from the airport to Berlin Zoologischer
Garten Station, then the S-Bahn, as above. Guests arriving by air in Schonefeld may take the direct hourly
regional train to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof or may proceed on the S-Bahn to Zoo Station.  (map of Berlin)

Note: One 2-hour ticket (Zones A-B-C) is valid for all bus and S-Bahn rides (in both Berlin and Potsdam)
and costs 2,40 Euro.

Alternatively, you may take a taxi at your own expense (ca. 10 Euro) from the Railway Station Potsdam to the Sparkassenakademie.
 
 

How to reach the university?

To reach the Neues Palais campus of the university from the hotel, simply take the Bus #695 from the bus stop at
Potsdam-Pirschheide station to the stop Neues Palais (ca. 5 min). You only need to buy a ``Kurzstreckentarif-Ticket''
(short-distance ticket) which costs 1,40 Euro. Validate the ticket inside the bus. From the bus stop walk along the road
(following the route of the bus). About 100 m ahead you'll see the main entrance to the university. (A gatekeeper  sits
in the booth on the right-hand side.) Our building, House 8, is the first building on the left. Go into the coutyard and walk
to the entrance in the far left corner. You'll find our offices on the upper floor and the lecture rooms nearby on the ground floor.
